Lola Curtis

Hello My Name Is...

Lola D. Curtis

This is my third year at DCS teaching 7th and 8th grade students science. Things have changed in middle school science; instead of each grade being a particular science discipline (life or Earth) each grade will be doing a mix of physical, life, and Earth sciences. I am looking forward to an exciting 2017-2018 school year!

A bit about me:

I grew up in Michigan. I have also lived in Idaho and Arizona. I lived at the Grand Canyon for 3 months and then in Flagstaff. I moved to New Orleans in 1984 and am a Hurricane Katrina transplant to Monroe. The other career that I have had and truly loved was zookeeping. Rhinos and bats were two of my favorites but I have worked with 700+ species. I bring a lot of life experience to teaching your beloved children! I was happily married but now I am a widow, no children, so your kids are the only ones I have to love!
