Updated School Start Information
If you requested the total distance learning option, your request will be granted. However, please note that you will have to sign an additional contract agreeing to certain conditions, including adherence to attendance policies and acknowledging that there will be a "learning coach" to assist your child at home. Also note that this option does not exempt your child from any of the requirements for promotion or graduation, including the passing of any state required tests and that, should you choose this option, you will be unable to move to a hybrid or face-to-face model. Finally, please remember that, while we are doing our best to help you with Internet connections, in some cases access from your home is not possible.
Attached is the updated school calendar. The students' first day has been pushed back to September 8th due to unforeseen circumstances.
Beginning September 8, DCS will implement the hybrid model of distance learning for the majority of students. This means students in grades 1-12 attending 2 days per week and being served through distance learning the other 3 days. Kindergarten students will follow the schedule discussed with their child's teacher. Those students that chose the Total Distance Learning option will be contacted to schedule a time to pick up their child's Chromebook.

In order to keep families on the same schedule and to enable us to adhere to current school bus social distancing guidelines, we are scheduling students by where they live. Students that live in Tallulah or ride a Tallulah bus will attend classes on Monday and Tuesday. Students that do not live in Tallulah or ride a Tallulah bus will attend classes on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will be a distance learning day for all students.
Again, your patience is much appreciated as these are unprecedented times and we are trying to make the best decisions possible for all of our families.
