SWT

Remember:

 Do not schedule appointments on a testing day or at least make sure appointments are

made in the afternoon.

 Make sure your child is here and on time. If students are late and the test is in progress,

he/she will have to wait until the next testing session to begin before going to class.

 Any sessions missed will have to be made up in the afternoon or on a make-up day.

 If your child is absent on a testing day, a doctor’s excuse will be needed.

 Make sure to go to bed at a decent time so that you get adequate sleep and rest.

 Make sure you eat a nutritious breakfast.

 Make sure if your child is on any doctor prescribed medications, those are routinely

given.

 Before your child leaves home or your vehicle each morning, make sure they leave you

on a happy note. Give encouraging words. We do not want them to come to school

upset. They need to be able to focus and concentrate.

Some simple test prep things to talk to your child about:

 Read material carefully.

 Take your time.

 Do your very best.

Scratch paper will be given, so use it to jot your thoughts and work out any math

problems.

 Don’t stress but give it your best.

It’s their time to shine and show us what they know.

 If they finish before time is up, go back over your work and remain quiet while others

finish.

Note: On their testing days, students will be allowed to bring water and a healthy snack to

school. Healthy snack examples: pretzels, nuts, breakfast bar, peanut butter crackers, trail mix,

etc. It can only be eaten when the teacher indicates it is time for it, such as between the two

tests. A healthy snack should aid in students staying balanced, focused, and motivated to

complete their test with the best of their ability. Students and teachers MUST make sure their

Chromebooks are out of the way of the water and snack. Students may also have reading

material such as a library book or maybe a drawing tablet to keep them occupied and quiet

until the timer goes off.

We feel confident that with everyone’s support, this year’s standardized testing will be the

best yet. Good Luck everyone!!!
