Delhi Charter Student Spotlight
Emma Maxwell
8th Grade
Parents, we have reopened our jacket order link for students that need school-approved outwear. Appropriate outerwear is a part of our School Dress Code Policy. Students that are not in compliance could face discpline consequences. Please use the attached flyer to make purchases by January 26, 2025.
Any questions can be directed to Coach Clark at 318-878-0433 ext 1113.
Parents, this is a reminder that students with 10 or more UNEXCUSED absences are considered truant. Unless there is a special circumstance, truant students in grades K-8 will fail and repeat the same grade. Truant students in grades 9-12 will not receive credit for any classes taken. Privileges such as dress down days, field trips, and extracurricular activities are lost until enough of these days are made up. Unexcused absences can be made up through our Seat Recovery Program. Every 4 hours in Seat Recovery equals 1 unexcused absence made up.
The DCS Seat Recovery Program begins Monday. The program is available Monday through Thursday from 3:05 until 5:05. Students report to Amber Hall directly after school where the SR teacher will sign them in. Work will be provided by teachers and must be completed and turned in.
Students must have a ride available in Amber Hall Parking Lot by 5:05 each day.
Students are NOT allowed to just show up for Seat Recovery after school. Parents MUST REGISTER Students for Seat Recovery by calling Coach Clark at 318-878-0433 ext. 1113
The Attendance section of students' report cards displays the number of unexcused absences each student has accumulated. This is the number beneath the letter "U". If you have questions, these can be directed to Coach Clark.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Delhi Charter will go virtual for this Friday due to the weather concerns. Please stay warm and safe. We look forward to seeing you Monday.
Saturday January 4, the DCS Powerlifting Team had the privilege of attending the 2025 Billy Jack Talton Invitational at West Monroe High School. We had 3 lifters place at this meet. Senior Natalie Martin placed 3rd in the 181 lb weight class with a 635 lb. total, 8th grader Ezekiel McKinney placed 2nd in the 114 lb weight class with a 400 lb. total and 9th grader Preston Ezell placed 2nd in the 132 lb. weight class with a 820 lb. total. Coach McKinney would like to congratulate all those that lifted at this meet for the first time. Everyone did a great job. Next Tuesday January 14, 2025 the DCS powerlifting Team will be lifting in a Dual Meet also at West Monroe High School.
🗣ATTENTION PARENTS:
The forecast for the rest of the week calls for very low temperatures.
Please make sure your children are properly layered.
EVERYONE has had enough time to purchase a school jacket or school approved hoodie by now. However, if you still have not done so, we will work around that for the time being.
We do not allow blankets on the buses or in the classrooms...so leave those at home.
But DO NOT send your children to school without a coat, jacket, or hoodie of some sort.
If you need info on where you can get school approved outerwear, please contact me. 318-878-0433 ext 1113
THANKS,
--Coach Clark
