BASKETBALL GAME TICKET UPDATE.
We have less than 50 tickets left for tonights basketball game vs Delhi High School. Tickets will be sold in the DCS front office until 2pm.
You must have a ticket to enter.
TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. Security will be in place inside and outside. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

The DCS Seat Recovery Program is a program to make up for unexcused absences. It is available from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Monday thru Thursday, and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.
You have to email or call Coach Clark at least 1 day in advance in order to reserve a spot in seat recovery.
Students with more than 10 unexcused absences are subject to loss of extracurricular privileges and also risk repeating their current grade.

DCS will host Delhi for a district basketball game on Tuesday January 30th. There will be 2 games startimg at 6pm. Doors will open at 5:15 pm. Tickets are $10 and will ONLY be sold in advance. You can purchase tickets from the office at Delhi Charter School or Delhi High School from now until 1pm on Tuesday. There will be NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR. DCS Alumni Ashari Jones and Kolton Kelley completed at LSU on January 12th for the season opening track meet. Kolton ran the 600m and the 800m and Ashari threw the shot put. Kolton is on the Track Team at ULM and Ashari is on the Track Team at McNeese State. Very proud of our Gators!!


Tonight's Varsity Boys basketball game at Tensas will start at 6 pm.There will only be one game.

On Friday January 12th, DCS participated in a Tri-Meet at Caldwell High School. This meet had 16 male lifters. DCS had 4 of those 16 competing at this meet. DCS had 4 1A lifters and the other 12 were all 3A lifters. Senior Payton Till placed 1st with a score of 301.52, 8th grader Preston Ezell placed 2nd with a score of 272.98, and Sophomore Preston Polhamus placed 3rd with a score of 272.30. Coach McKinney and Coach Wallace are proud of all the lifters that competed at this meet. Now to get prepared for regionals.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Applicants must be certified to teach in the State of Louisiana or working towards completing the requirements for certification.
Experience as a head football coach, preferred, or five years as an assistant coach at the high school or college level. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
CDL and willingness to transport student athletes via bus is preferred but not mandatory.
This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. The head coach will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other related duties as assigned by the principal, athletic director or appropriate administrator.

Gator Basketball Update.
This past Tuesday's game vs Block High School is rescheduled for Monday. JV Boys will tip off at 5pm at The Indoor Swamp.
Tomorrow's (Friday) home game vs Sicily Island has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The $15 paid for Jean Fridays was for the first semester. Students that paid for the 1st semester may wear jeans tomorrow. Starting next week, students can pay $15 to wear Jeans on Fridays for the 2nd semester. Money is to be turned in to your homeroom teacher and is due by next Friday Jan 19. On Saturday, January 6th, Delhi Charter School powerlifting team participated in their first meet of the season. They attended the Billy Jack Talton Meet at West Monroe High School with 7 lifters. Of the 7, 2 placed. Kierra Hardy (198 lb weight class) with a 615 total, placed 3rd in her weight class and Conner Baines (123 lb weight class) with a 560 total, placed 2nd in his weight class. Coach McKinney and Coach Wallace are proud of everyone that lifted.
