DCS (WOYSA )soccer team took their first win of the season against Claiborne Christian School( WOYSA) soccer team with a final score of 8-1!
Grades 10th and 11th will be taking the ACT and Pre-ACT on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023. On that day we are asking 9th and 12th grade students to stay home. Thank you for your help in this matter.
DCS POWERLIFTING
Regional Results :
The DCS Lady Gator powerlifting team lifted some big weights at their regional competition in Ruston on February 18, 2023. Gentry Guice broke her own deadlift record with a 255 lb lift. Logan Reese made us all proud making a 235 lb deadlift look easy! Abbygail Maynard, the stand alone freshman, shows real promise with a smooth 225 lb squat. Katie Williamson breaks her own bench record with a 145 lb bench press. Kierra Hardy and Olivia Winstead both shined, breaking their class’s record with a 155 lb bench press. Chloe Ogden moves forward with an easy 670 lb total. These ladies love what they do and are ready to do it again March 23rd at the Louisiana state meet in Lafayette. The Gator powerlifting team competed this past weekend at Calvary Baptist for the Regional meet. Kaiden Blakley placed 3rd in the 132lb class with an easy 370 deadlift. Merritt Coenen broke the DCS 181lb deadlift record with a 525lb deadlift. Boys and girls are now 3 weeks out from the state meet at the Cajun dome in Laffeyette. The following lifters qualified to lift at State on March 22 (Boys)and 23 (Girls). Gentry Guice, Abbygail Maynard, Katie Williamson, Kierra Hardy, Olivia Winstead, Chloe Ogden, Kaden Sauseda, Kaiden Blakley, Mason Blakley, Levi Ezell, Cooper Berghman, Merritt Coenen, Kameron Gray, Samuel Stevenson, and Seyvion Moses.
Todays softball game against Forest will be played at DCS instead of at Forest. The game will still begin at 4pm.
