The DCS Boys and Girls Track and Field teams won the District 4-1A Championships last week and continued their season Monday April 22 at OCS for the Region 1-1A championships. DCS finished 3rd overall at the Regional meet, qualifying 8 athletes to LSU May 2nd for the Class 1A Championship.
Marcus Carter was first to qualify for state in the javelin with a throw of 149 feet, his little sister was next Kanaya Carter qualifying in the Long Jump at 15 feet 3 inches, while little brother Tayen Carter qualified in the Long Jump 21 feet 6 inches, also winning the triple jump at 44 feet 9 inches. Delhi Charter kept the FAMILY affair going with Kimrey Thomas qualifying in the Discus, and brother Keidron Thomas placing 2nd in both the 100 (10.84 seconds) and breaking his own school record in the 200 meters (22.15 seconds). The 4x200 meter relay team qualified for state with a time of 1:32 Team members were Tayven Carter, Lee Jones, Marcus Carter, and Keidron Thomas. The 4x100 meter relay team was the final group to qualify for state. Team members were Deandra Young, Marquan Montgomery, Tayven Carter, and Keidron Thomas. Tayven Carter was named Outstanding Field athlete scoring 18 points

All photos from the elementary Easter bunny day have been sent to the email on the form. Some emails were hard to read and there were a few forms that didn't have an email. The Winter Sports Banquet has been rescheduled for Wednesday April 17.
At 6pm in Amber Hall we will honor our Varsity Boys and Girls Powerlifting, Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball, and JV Boys and Girls Soccer. Each athlete is allowed 2 guests and dinner will be served.
ATTENTION GATORS!!
LEAP testing for grades 3-4 will begin next week. April 15th - 18th.
Grades 5th - 8th will test the following week April 22nd - 25th.
All students with perfect attendance during their testing days will receive a free dress down day. Students must be at school on time each day to qualify.
Students who score basic or above in any subject will receive dress down days next school year!Students who score mastery in any subject will participate in a movie & popcorn party! Students who score advanced in any subject will enjoy a water slide fun in the sun day!
